James Foster, Managing Director of Country Barns Limited, first approached CG after previous experiences with property acquisitions had left him looking for a legal firm that could provide greater clarity, attention to detail and confidence throughout the process.

At the time, James and his team were acquiring The River Barn, a premium wedding venue in the North West which they have since developed into one of the busiest venues in the region.

For James, finding a legal firm that shared the same attention to detail he puts into his own business was particularly important.

"Attention to detail is really important to us. Every detail was thought about painstakingly."

CG supported James and the team through the acquisition of The River Barn, providing the detailed advice and clarity they needed throughout the process.

James said:

Following that experience, the relationship with CG has continued to grow. Over the past five to six years, James has worked with teams across the firm, including property, corporate and commercial, employment law and HR.

When Country Barns decided to expand with the acquisition of a second venue, Wyreside Hall, James returned to CG to support the transaction.

"We had every confidence going into Wyreside Hall that we'd have a similar experience, which we did. There were a lot of intricacies to that deal, and CG helped us to navigate them."

The ability to draw on expertise from across CG has also proved valuable as the business has developed. James can speak to the team about one matter and quickly access the right specialist support elsewhere within the firm.
